Welcome!

If you are here to explore working with a Spiritual Director, you may well be in the right place. Explore the site -- go to the GETTING STARTED (FAQ) page where many of your questions may already be answered; read the blog and listen to how you feel; follow some of the links to learn more; find out a little something about my background. If you'd like to contact me -- either to set up an appointment or ask a questions, there's a contact form on the right side of each page that you can use to MAKE A CONNECTION.

Most simply, though, the spirit of my practice can be summed up in these words (adapted from Robert Mabry Doss): For those who come here seeking God ... may God go with you. For those who come embracing life ... may life return your affection. And for those who come to seek a path ... may a way be found, and the courage to take it step by step.

Offerings & Opportunities

Spiritual Direction

This includes forty-five minutes of conversation with you, as well as time before and after in which I prepare myself and reflect on the session to better prepare for the next session.  Most often I meet with people via Zoom, every 4 to 6 weeks.  The standard fee is $75 for an hour's session.  If you would like to pay for 5 sessions at a time, the price drops to $65 per session.  (Which is also the discounted cost for seminarians.)  If cost is a significant hurdle, a sliding scale can be discussed.  Money should never be the reason not to engage a Spiritual Director!

Retreats, Workshops, and Consulting

In addition to my private, at-a-distance Spiritual Direction practices, I am also available to give talks, lead workshops and retreats, and offer consultation and coaching to congregations (and other groups) which want to explore more deeply the material that's in, and which rises out of, any of my books. Some available programs include:
  • What Is Spirituality, and Why Do I Need to Practice?
  • It Should Be About More Than Doing A Job: the ministry of lay leadership
  • What Is It About Jesus?
  • Radically Shared Ministry: moving beyond clergy-centric patterns
  • Clowns, Fools, Jesters, and the Ministries of Us All
  • Lessons From (and for) The Circus of Life
